Over his 37-year career at Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers, George has built expertise in water infrastructure, industrial coatings, and field safety. Combining talents in both civil engineering design and construction observation, George has contributed to countless public works infrastructure projects throughout Sonoma County and the North Coast. He has served as a trusted resource for his colleagues, contributing to a culture of technical excellence at Brelje & Race. “This recognition reflects a career defined by technical excellence, professional service, and a commitment to helping others succeed,” noted Morgan Cooney, Branch President.

Among the notable projects of George’s career is the tertiary wastewater treatment facility for Windsor Water District, completed in 1992. The facility was only the second tertiary plant in Sonoma County, and George and colleagues took the extraordinary step of operating it for two weeks as they worked through startup challenges and prepared district staff. Another recent accomplishment is serving as resident engineer for a new connection linking the City of Santa Rosa’s Geysers Recharge high-pressure recycled water pipeline to Delta Pond, creating a critical link for operational flexibility and redundancy in the City’s recycled water system.

George also has a proud history of service to the ASCE Redwood Empire Branch. He has been a dedicated ASCE member since 1987, first joining as a student member in college and maintaining continuous professional membership throughout his career. He served on the board of the ASCE Redwood Empire Branch for six years (1998-2004), advancing through officer roles to serve as Branch President from 2001 to 2002. He was elevated to ASCE Life Member earlier this year.
