Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers has an immediate opening for a CAD Drafting Technician or Designer. This full-time position will be based in our Santa Rosa, California, office and is available immediately.

What You'll Be Doing

As a skilled and detail-oriented drafting professional, you will prepare construction drawings, topographic maps and engineering/survey exhibits utilizing industry standard computer drafting practices. You will work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team of civil engineers and land surveyors to create and edit engineering plans and other technical drawings utilizing AutoCAD/Civil 3D. You’ll contribute to the design development of diverse projects, including water and wastewater systems and facilities, roadways, parks, schools, wineries, and commercial and residential site developments.

Minimum Requirements

CAD Technician I

• 0 to 5 years of experience as a civil drafter/technician using AutoCAD
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for civil engineering design and drafting, including plotting, file management, and CAD standards.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality drawings following our office standards.
• Self-motivated and strong communication skills.

CAD Technician II

• All from Technician I but 5+ years of experience as a civil drafter/technician using AutoCAD or 2+ years of work experience combined with relevant Associates Degree or professional certification with demonstrable competency.
• Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD (including Civil 3D) to create and edit engineering exhibits and civil construction and survey drawings.

CAD Designer

• All from Technician II but with additional experience and able to provide technical and professional design support, and independently plan and execute segments of projects in collaboration with civil engineers.
• Demonstrated sound judgment, initiative, and ability to guide and direct work of junior drafting staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in the civil engineering or land surveying fields.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS.
• LSIT or other specialized certifications.

Compensation

Exact compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, demonstrated skills, education, and certifications. Annual salary is anticipated as follows:

• CAD Technician I - $62,000 to $75,000 per year
• CAD Technician II - $75,000 to $90,000 per year
• CAD Designer - $90,000 to $110,000 per year
