Project: WGP Unit-1
Client: Western GeoPower, Inc.
Brelje & Race is assisting Western GeoPower, Inc. (WGP) with
their environmental documents/permitting, compliance, surveying
and civil engineering needs for their proposed WGP Unit-1
geothermal power plant project. The project consists of
redeveloping a commercial steam resource at The Geysers in
Sonoma County at the site of the former PG&E Unit 15. The former
power plant and well field ceased operations in 1989. By 2000,
the power plant was dismantled and the wells were plugged and
abandoned. WGP has a Power Purchase Agreement with Pacific Gas &
Electric to provide clean, renewable geothermal power by 2010
and to assist the utility with meeting California’s Renewable
Portfolio Standard of 20% renewable energy by 2010. |
