Project:
Petaluma Campus
Client:
Sonoma County Junior College District
2008 marked the 90th anniversary of the Santa Rosa
Junior College; in addition to observing this milestone,
the SRJC was able to celebrate the completion of the
permanent campus in Petaluma Campus.
Along with the main campus of the SRJC, the Petaluma
Campus provides Sonoma County with a variety of
educational and occupational opportunities to help
students keep pace with changing employment conditions
and four-year college transfer options. The Petaluma
Campus currently has an enrollment of 6,300 students,
and is expected to increase to more than 12,000 in
coming years.
The project included modifications to the library,
bookstore and student services, as well as new
facilities to accommodate more classrooms, laboratories,
faculty offices and a new lecture and performance venue.
A portion of the site remains undeveloped as open space.
Brelje & Race provided the following site improvement
and environmental services: Schematic Design Package,
Design Development Package, and Construction Documents
including Project Specifications; Permitting Assistance
for Army Corp. 404, Regional Water Quality Control Board
401, Fish & Game Streambed Alteration and City of
Petaluma Encroachment permits; Public Outreach as part
of CEQA preparation/ process; and Supplemental EIR.
